I hope that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!  

The CES PTA has been hard at work getting things underway for this school year.  Our amazing committee chairs have already started planning some fun things for students and families in the upcoming months.  This week our Ranch Hand, Library, and Copy Room Volunteers will be returning to campus to help our teachers and staff.   Don’t forget, all volunteers must have a completed background check to volunteer campus.

Speaking of volunteers, I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Kristen Walker, Margo Sturgeon, and All-Star Dads for planning such an amazing Start of School Party!  I know that the kids had an amazing time and it was a fantastic way to kick off the school year! I would also like to say thank you to those parents who got up extra early and helped with open car doors at drop off the last few weeks.  Thank you everyone!

Thank you to those of you who have signed up for PTA!  I am excited to announce that the CES PTA will be recipients of two awards from Texas PTA, yay! First, The Golden Apple Award, which is given to schools that have 100% of their faculty join the PTA and second, The Head Start Award, which is given to those schools who have achieved at least 75% of the previous school years membership.  Let’s not stop here!  If we achieve 100% or greater, we will receive two additional awards from Texas PTA, so please join today!

By joining the PTA you will have access to our online directory, receive regular newsletters to update on any PTA events and have opportunities for your voice be heard through Texas PTA.  There are also opportunities to sign up for other volunteer opportunities like Room Mom, Library Volunteer, All Star Dads & many more.

We rely on the PTA directory and message boards through Membership Toolkit as our form of communication and outreach to CES families for such things as class parties, volunteer opportunities, and many more important events throughout the year. The directory requires that parents populate their information and student class/teacher, and it is looking very slim at the moment. Please log into Membership Toolkit and update your child’s grade and teacher so you don’t miss out on any important communication!

Don’t forget to complete your GCISD background checks!  Background checks are required to volunteer on campus.

2. Register and complete application.
3. Application will be reviewed and you will be contacted if further information is needed.
4. Once approved, check your email inbox for invites to opportunities that match your interest.

Whether it is volunteering with your child's classroom, your school's field day or in any capacity in connection with our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, you must complete the following Volunteer Background Authorization form online.

 For the protection of students and staff, all volunteer applicants must read the Volunteer Handbook (in Español) and are asked to apply online authorizing the district to obtain a criminal history background check.

Note: All volunteers are required to reapply each year.
